The SIMP Draft Explained:

There are 42 total players in the field. We will determine 2 person teams via the "SIMP draft".

We will split the 42 player field in two: the top 21 players and the bottom 21 players.

The 21st ranked player (the lowest ranked player in the top of the field) will get the first draft pick of any of the 21 players in the bottom half of the field. Then the 20th ranked player will get their pick of the 20 remaining players in the bottom half of the field.

For example: the 21st player will likely end up playing with the 22nd best player. The 20th ranked player will likely end up playing with the 23rd ranked player and so on until the top ranked player get's paired with the worst player in the field.

The point of this draft format is to not only to give everyone a shot at a championship but also increase the likely hood of friend's getting the chance to draft friends.

2025 Draft Rankings

1.) Everett Warner (2022 SIMP Champion)

2022 tournament champion. Excellent ball striker, a streaky putter, and easily rattled. Biggest strength to his game is his length off the tee. Likes to say stupid shit like “jobs not finished yet” and “Long Meadow Country Club is better than Southampton Country Club”. He has a special shot in the bag for the 18th tee where he tees up his ball like he’s hitting a driver but uses a hybrid and rips an absolute banana ball around the corner. If you play with Ev, congrats youre now a favorite to win the tournament. Don’t fuck it up.

2.) Hunter Budrewicz (Co-Commissioner of SIMP)

Incredibly charismatic, devilishly handsome, and a master of female anatomy. Pretty much the opposite golf game to that of his clear rival Everett W evident by his abysmally short pokes off the tee. Despite the lack of length he’s got a steady short game that would make your mother crumb. No fancy 60 degree wedges around the green; this guy will 9 out of 10 times opt for a bump and run when he can. Pretty much the lamest, least exciting round of golf you will ever watch but when its all said and done if it all comes together you should have a chance at the chip’.

3.) Nick Strycharz (CEO Of Southampton Country Club)

Draft notes: A fucking legend. Amazing vibes out there and has the game to match. A bit of a streaky player but on his better days could be the best player in the field. Voted most likely to hand you a dab pen in the SIMP so I hope youre 420 friendly. Be on your best behavior when you play with this guy; his daddy owns the course and writes my checks.

4.) Jordan Washburn

Probably my favorite golfer to play with in the field other than Matt V. This guy is a grinder and his golf brain is a house of horrors. Ive seen him stick a 130 yard shot to 2 feet and still say he has no business being on a golf course. Good vibes & good energy. If you can keep him off the ledge you will have a shot at it (so long as his girlfriend lets him come and play)

5.) Skully (2023 SIMP Champion)

I met this guy in college since he was roommates with one of my best friends. Bull. Dog. This guy is fucking nails under pressure. And it really showed in the 2023 SIMP playoff when

Austin’s brain melted out of his fucking ears and Skully sealed the deal. He seems to be one of the most gifted athletes I’ve ever met and just knows how to score. Good shit. Welcome back Skully.

6.) Matt York

Runner up finish in the SIMP 2023. Have never played golf with him personally but I have seen him at Big Y and that counts for something. Nothing but respect. Man’s man. Tight ass if that’s your thing.
